In the last twelve months, there’s one person who’s cemented herself as an absolute megastar. From her debut Fenty Beauty line boasting a record breaking number of foundation shades, to her Fenty x Puma Creative Directorship, Rihanna has proven that when she puts her name to something, she has serious faith in it. Not content with simply lending her moniker to established brands, Rihanna is looking to claim every inch of the market and she has the skills, nouse, and most importantly the stats to back it up. Her Fenty Beauty launch outsold the both Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian’s KKW Beauty in just days, and this savvy lady was involved in every step of the creative process before bringing these products to market. That’s right y’all, Rihanna is way more than just a gorgeous face.
So, what’s next for the Bajan beauty? Well, her next big project, Savage x Fenty should be top of your radar right now. Rihanna has teased a range of fine wines and fine lingerie for a while now and even bought up the rights to a vineyard and brand name. For now though, get ready for a fully size inclusive lingerie line that’s set to blow your mind.
With Leomie Anderson and Slick Woods heading up the teaser campaign, as well as RiRi herself (this girl knows she’s her brand’s best asset), the line looks set to be everything Rihanna symbolises: sexiness, inclusivity and excess. Think basques and panties that’ll have your partner on their knees, split cup and demi cup bras and suspenders harking back to 80’s glamour. I’m talking sass like Frank N Furter with the sex appeal of 80’s Kelly Le Brock, Voyeurs, these are some serious smalls. Don’t worry Voyeurs, sass level not quite one million? Or if you’re looking for more functional underwear, there’s plenty of that too and we’re being promised regular drops, just like with Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty line.
With Rihanna promising a full range of sizes from the triangle bra brigade (of which I am president) through to those who require a little extra scaffolding, Savage x Fenty promises diversity, inclusivity and sexiness in one lace trimmed package. By the looks of the campaign stills it seems that the message is one of body positivity, of embracing what you are and what you have, and dressing it up in the most beautiful, awesome fitting lingerie around and that can only be a good thing. Brava Rihanna.
Savage x Fenty is available globally from May 11th 2018
