Is Hailey Baldwin about to join her supermodel girl gang on the runway at the 2017 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show? If what we know so far is true, then you could well be looking at the next VS Angel to join the already stellar lineup.
“I want to walk in the Victoria’s Secret show, it’s every girl’s dream.” Hailey Baldwin
Having already carved out a pretty impressive modelling career, been a Guess Girl and had her own line with shoe mecca Public Desire, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Baldwin unveiled as the latest rookie to get her wings. Those strong Baldwin genes, long legs and perfect pout were made for the runway and we know she attended the second casting of the day alongside Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show alumni Jasmine Tookes, Izabel Goulart and Martha Hunt. We also now know that she got a call back – that’s a huge deal for a potential VS rookie.
Baldwin looked calm as she arrived for her casting, in ripped jeans, a black cropped tee and lace up stiletto heel pumps, she’s the perfect all American girl and prime for the picking. Plus, her social stock is rising, Baldwin is a young social media star with an army of loyal followers who hang on her every word or emoji. Chief Casting Director and brand owner Ed Razek is big on casting Influencers and socially relevant young stars in the biggest runway event of the year. Sidebar: While you’ve got that casting calendar open Razek, you might want to take another look at Jenner’s attempts to conquer the world over the last 12 months, maybe she didn’t spill a drop of her precious Pepsi, but her stock and credibility have dropped to facepalm level. Baldwin for the win.
With Karlie Kloss and Doutzen Kroes having retured their wings in 2015 and 16 respectively, Victoria’s Secret as a brand seem to be ushering in a younger market and with that, younger Ambassadors and Angels. Bringing in Baldwin would be an awesome move by Razek given that unlike starting Angel Kendall Jenner, she has cool credentials and street savvy. She’s more edgy than Gigi and has an electric presence on the runway. Personally, I could see her becoming a show regular if she makes it through the callback stage.
I don’t know about you Voyeurs but this is one potential casting choice that I’m championing, I’m betting i’ll be unveiling Baldwin as an official VS Rookie in the very near future…
